Good morning,
Milan is slowly moving into spring mode.
Cafes are getting louder, more events are popping up, and people are finally staying outside after work again. Here are the things happening in the city this week that are actually worth your time.
PS: As you live your best social life, maybe avoid public transportation - or at least trams (more on the tragic tram saga below)

What's happening in the city:
Transport and mobility
A tram on line 27 in Milan caught fire on Via Marco Bruto around 9:00 a.m. after a high-voltage cable fell onto its roof, causing smoke and flames. Just a few weeks ago another tram went off the track killing two people and leaving more injured. Don’t know about you, I’ll be going on foot for now.
Air travel strikes on 18 March (Malpensa + easyJet nationwide). The national strike list maintained by Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti shows a 24-hour strike by ALHA personnel at Milano Malpensa Airport (00:00–23:59) and (b) a 4- hour strike of easyJet cabin crew between 13:00–17:00.
If you have flights to/from Malpensa or are flying easyJet that day, do not assume your original schedule will hold.
Air quality and public health
Temporary anti-smog measures activated from 13 March (Level 1).
If you drive an older petrol/diesel vehicle (or certain LPG/metano categories), you may be restricted during the day; if you rely on a car for school/work runs, you have to plan around this now, not after you get a fine.
