Good morning,

🏙 What’s Happening in the City

Amazon is quietly building a lot of data centers around Milan — Multiple sites in Lachiarella, Rho, and Pero, with Equinix also in the mix. Not flashy news, but significant if you're tracking where tech infrastructure is actually moving in Italy. → r/milano

Someone built a performing arts map for Milan — Venues, shows, what's on when. performingartsatlas.com. Useful enough to bookmark.

Getting a "tap-out error" SMS after paying by contactless on the tram? Don't pay it. — A scam targeting new arrivals and tourists has been making the rounds. You get an SMS asking for €1.50 for a supposed tap-out error. It's not real. Ignore it. → r/milano

Italy still kills three workers a day, and the May 1st parade made sure you knew it — The Labour Day procession from Corso Venezia to Piazza della Scala was, on paper, the usual: flags, sound trucks, a Paolo Jannacci concert. The actual message was uglier. Italy logs ~1,100 workplace deaths a year - one of the highest rates in the EU - and the unions spent the day reading names. If you've been here a while you stop noticing the cranes-and-scaffolding economy that runs this country; this was a reminder of the bill it's running. → Wanted in Milan

Salvini brought the European far-right to the Duomo - and thousands showed up to say no — Few weeks ago Wilders, Bardella, and Salvini rallied in front of the cathedral for the Patriots for Europe's first major event since Orban's election defeat in Hungary. Counter-protests drew equal crowds. The League is polling at 6-8%, down from 17% in 2018 — Milan keeps getting used as the backdrop for a movement that's losing ground at home. → The Local

The airport shuttle pricing debate is back on r/milano - and people are not ok - €12+ each way to Malpensa or Linate. The thread is the usual collective venting, but it's a useful temperature check: this is a shared pain point for basically everyone in the international community here. → r/milano

Milan wants your opinion on the M6 metro - The city opened a participatory planning process for the future M6 line. Feels a bit like one of those tick the box activities to If you have thoughts on where Milan needs better transit, this is the window to make them official. → r/milano

💡Find of the Week

Discovered a pretty cool Georgian place in the South of Milan - Merissi. Probably one of the best Khaciapuri I have tried (prepare for a yearly dose of cheese). Call in advance if you want to try their Khinkali.
